Jekyll & Hyde's Constantine Maroulis Explains the Eye-Popping Secret to Tapping Into His Dark Side

What brings out the evil Hyde in Constantine Maroulis? That’s exactly what Young Hollywood tried to find out during a backstage interview with Maroulis and Deborah Cox at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood, where the Broadway-bound production of Jekyll & Hyde has set up shop for its most recent tour stop.

“It’s a really sort of predatorial thing, and then it’s just… the eye pop, and then you have your Hyde,” explained Maroulis, who plays the dual personalities of Dr. Jekyll and his villainous alter ego in the Frank Wildhorn-scored musical. Maroulis also joked that he’s got “at least six” other personalities buried in his Tony-nominated body, names of whom “end in some sort of Greek –ous or something.” Dr. Jekyllopolous, maybe?

Grammy nominee Cox was also questioned about how she channels her sultry character Lucy. “You’ve just got to know how to move your hips and 'ooh,'” she teased while showing off some sensual gyrations (a move not unfamiliar to her lady-o’-the-evening character in the show).
